The photo contains five rectangular blocks located parallel to one another. These structures are made of ordinary hay, their warm color and recognizable texture suggest a cozy smell of summer, but the purpose of the strange shapes remains unclear. It is a French idea to make benches for the numerous visitors on a crowded holiday in Fontainebleau. And that year, the organizers of the event gave the guests something to remember. Because the festive mood is complemented by little things that create a special charm. For example, shades, textures, aromas and tactile impressions of hay enhance the feeling of a country trip, in which there is—or rather should be—nothing from the depressing weight of the metropolis.
The images of haystacks in French art can be found in many beautiful landscapes, and they are well-known masterpieces. Choosing this theme for my photo, I decided to come up with my idea, which is made with respect for the principles of the Parisian art school.
