In this work, I continue the Suprematist philosophy of vision initiated by Kazimir Malevich, offering the viewer my own experience of "decoding" the meanings hidden in the laconic combination of geometry and color. Just as the "Black Square" once questioned the boundaries of imagery and the nature of creativity, the black background in this composition serves as a conditional "platform" for a bright red sphere that is the center of attention.
The key strength of the work lies in its openness to multiple interpretations, determined by the emphasis on form and color. By rejecting traditional objectivity, I encourage the viewer to create their own series of associations: a "red button" that takes on a sharp socio-political connotation or a "clown's nose", simultaneously exposing the vulnerability of the powerful and satirizing modern manipulations; or any other image born of the imagination. It is precisely the absence of figurativeness and the gravitation towards abstraction that echoes the "pure feeling" of Suprematism, where new meanings are born in a space devoid of literal narratives.
The "red object" in the center, thanks to its round shape, becomes an emotional and conceptual "trigger," exposing the thin line between seriousness and the grotesque in our perception of the world. Everyone who looks at this contrasting interplay of colors brings their personal experience into the "emptiness" of the black background, enriching the work with their own interpretations and emotions.
Thus, "Red Sphere on a Black Square" organically fits into the contemporary art discourse, demonstrating that a minimalist form can conceal extraordinary multi-layeredness. Thanks to this, the work becomes an important link in the chain of ideas laid down by Malevich, while simultaneously forming new contexts for reflections on the essence of art and its conceptual boundaries.
